Impact on the Environment

Fracking causes increased air, noise and light pollution, and each well uses millions of gallons of water which after use is toxic and has to be disposed of by transportation to a appropriate safe disposal site.

In countries where fracking has taken place, there has been significant impacts on the natural environment, including ground water contamination, methane leaks, spills of fracking chemicals, earthquakes and loss of wild life. Many countries including Scotland, Ireland and France have already banned fracking due to serious health and environmental concerns.
