Impact on Local Communities and Rural Economy

Thousands of wells will be needed to make fracking viable, which will result in the industrialisation of hugh areas of the British countryside.

Fracking can have a negative impact on local communities living near well sites, bringing increased HGV traffic, noise and light pollution, a variety of Health problems and a likely fall in property prices. This industry could also have a serious impact on existing sustainable industries such as tourism and farming, and on the regional economy as a whole.
